Ironworkers Local 97 would like to invite you to join us as we mark the 60th anniversary of the collapse of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.
This year’s event is particularly significant as it is a major milestone, and to commemorate it we have paired the memorial with a weekend of recognition for our older members. We expect the memorial to not only be well-attended, but also have many of our older members in attendance whom might not normally be able to attend.
We have a distinguished list of guests and speakers who will be at the event, including Bob Lenarduzzi of the Vancouver Whitecaps, former Premier Mike Harcourt, and other officials and representatives from government and industry organizations.
The event itself is at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, June 17th. The stage will be set up on Fellowes Street, near the North end of Boundary Road. We have made arrangements for off-site parking, and ask that if you are able-bodied to please save the parking near the site for those with mobility issues. We will have members directing guests from that area to our off-site parking.
Additional parking will be available in the gravel field of St. John Franklin Elementary, 250 Skeena St, Vancouver.
There will be shuttle vans running guests to and from the event, between 11:30 and 2:30.
